Heal the past. Live the present. Dream the future.....

With Believe Counselling Service

What We Do

Deciding to enter therapy can be a huge and sometimes daunting decision to make. What I aim to do is make it as easy and as comfortable as it can be. Whatever service you choose, the level of care will be of the highest quality.

I am a member of the BACP which has an Ethical Framework for all its therapists to uphold, this is very important to me and can be found at https://www.bacp.co.uk/events-and-resources/ethics-and-standards/ethical-framework-for-the-counselling-professions/

Room-based Counselling

Whatever has bought you into counselling, my aim it to give you the space, time and respect to be listened to WITHOUT judgement. Life is busy and your time is valuable, so together WE WILL find a way for you to be able to express and work out what you need to do, to help you move forward. Emotions can be hard to deal with but you will be in the right place to feel supported in letting them out.

Equine Assisted and Nature Therapy

This is a different form of therapy where you will be outside with me, your therapist, as well as 4 horses. It is an experiential therapy which means you will have an active experience with the horses during short activities which will help you to focus on any issues and areas of your life that you are struggling with. No previous experience is needed with horses and no riding is involved. Please see below for further information.

Walk and Talk Therapy

If sitting in a room talking about hard to deal with issues doesn't sound or feel right for you, it might make it easier for you to walk side by side with a therapist. I am able to offer a private walking space in the countryside of Southfleet for you to be able to do just that. I am also able to offer an outside space where we can sit in a confidential space.

More about......Equine Assisted Learning and Psychotherapy with Nature Therapy

I am a qualified Therapeutic Counsellor that loves to be outside with my horses. In 2017 I trained with LEAP to gain a qualification in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. I am a massive believer in the therapeutic values of animals in general but there is something special about using horses for therapy and being outside in nature, breathing in fresh air and just being in the moment in a peaceful environment.

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy is becoming a popular form of therapy in the UK due to its experiential nature of being up close to such beautiful animals in their natural environment. The human to horse interaction, along with a mental health therapist, has proven to be a positive and successful tool for emotional growth and learning.

Clients learn about themselves and others by participating in activities with the horses and then processing feelings, behaviours and patterns through discussion with a therapist.

Activities involve the development of skills such as assertiveness, problem-solving, taking responsibility, relationship building and leadership.

The therapy is non-ridden and is not about horsemanship. There is no need for any previous experience with horses.

Being outside holds a huge therapeutic value. Nowadays we are so busy and don't take the time to just be outside and notice our surroundings. I like to mix this element into therapy work, slowing things down and taking part in therapeutic activities outside using the natural environment around you.

The therapy on offer is for any age and for any reason. Please use the contact form if you are interested and for availability.
